OCA Argentina,  Organización Coordinadora Argentina SRL, is a postal and courier services company in Argentina. It provides mail, lo domestic shipping and logistics solutions, and courier services within the country.

OCA was founded in 1983 and has since become one of the prominent players in the logistics and courier industry in Argentina. The company operates within Argentina. OCA has a network of offices and distribution centers across the country to facilitate its delivery services.

OCA Argentina, currently heavily relies on legacy systems with limited cloud integration. Recognizing the need for technological modernization, initiated a transformation by seamlessly integrating AWS cloud technology.

Customer key driver for this was cost savings, scabalabiltiy and enhanced performance, also  staff´s limited experience with cloud technologies and Governance not fully prepared for a seamless cloud integration.

Acknowledging the staff’s limited experience with cloud technologies, a training program focusing on AWS solutions was implemented. This initiative elevated the team’s proficiency, fostering confidence in handling cloud-based workflows and technologies effectively.

To bridge the governance gap, the existing IT governance model underwent revision. This transformation aligned governance practices with AWS standards, ensuring compliance and efficiency in managing cloud resources while accommodating the specific needs of OCA Argentina’s operational environment.

Recognizing the security gap in the transition to cloud environments, advanced AWS security tools, including IAM and Amazon GuardDuty, were integrated. This fortification established a resilient security posture in the cloud, safeguarding OCA Argentina’s digital assets and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

The predominantly on-premises infrastructure underwent a phased migration to AWS. Emphasis was placed on scalable services like Amazon EC2, S3, and RDS, providing OCA Argentina with a robust and scalable cloud platform to meet current and future demands.

To address operational gaps, AWS operational tools such as CloudFormation and OpsWorks were adopted. This integration streamlined workflows, enhancing operational efficiency, and provided the necessary tools for effective management and monitoring within the AWS cloud environment.

The executed actions collectively formed a comprehensive plan, ensuring OCA Argentina’s successful transition to and optimal functioning. This strategic journey reflected a commitment to embracing cutting-edge technologies, empowering the team, and positioning OCA Argentina for sustained success in the evolving digital landscape. OCA improved their staff productivity by enhancement through more efficient cloud operations and reduced manual data management tasks, with an estimated improvement of a 25% increase in productivity.
