Implementation of monitoring solution with Zabbix
Private bank implements comprehensive Observability solution with Nubiral to optimize and gain greater visibility of its Infrastructure health.
About the client
Private bank with a strong presence in the Argentine Republic, stands out for its extensive portfolio of clients and products.
Belonging to the Grupo Financiero Galicia and founded in 1905, it has solidified its position as one of the most influential financial entities in the country.
Needs
The client needed a centralized monitoring tool to capture metrics, logs, and events from its infrastructure, which spans multiple devices.
The goal was to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their technology infrastructure management, reducing false positives and ensuring comprehensive observability of their systems.
Solution
Nubiral proposed a comprehensive work plan divided into phases to meet the client’s requirements.
The plan included:
ZABBIX Engineering: Implementation of a new Zabbix infrastructure, configuration based on best practices, and preparation for backups and disaster recovery. The latest available LTS version of Zabbix will be installed.
Equipment Ingestion and Agent Installation: Configuration of agents on the devices to be monitored, application of available templates, and creation of service maps and dashboards in Zabbix in collaboration with the client to ensure skill transfer.
Skill Transfer and Training: Training for Zabbix users and administrators, ensuring that the Banco Galicia team can independently manage the platform once the contract ends.
Consulting and Continuous Improvement: A pool of 80 monthly consulting hours for additional monitoring projects and continuous platform improvement over six months.
Results
The implementation and support of Zabbix by Nubiral resulted in several key benefits for the bank:
Efficient and Centralized Monitoring: A well-configured Zabbix infrastructure enabled efficient monitoring of multiple devices, centralizing the capture of metrics, logs, and events.
Reduction of False Positives: Optimization of metrics and alarms to reduce false positives, improving monitoring accuracy.
Training and Knowledge Transfer: The Bank’s team acquired the necessary skills to manage and maintain Zabbix autonomously, ensuring the long-term sustainability of the solution.
Continuous Improvement: The availability of additional consulting allowed for continuous adjustments and improvements to the monitoring platform, ensuring it remains aligned with the bank’s needs and objectives. This collaboration not only resolved the Bank’s initial challenges in managing its technology infrastructure but also established a solid foundation for future expansions and improvements in its monitoring system.
